Domestic Engineered Solutions for Your Toughest Precast Challenges: Step Four

Fire (Cure and Cool Down)

Why use a furnace builder for your precast shape needs? As a furnace builder, Onex has extensive in-house furnace options for firing at different temperatures and sizes.

Tightly controlled furnaces with uniform heat distribution ensure that all parts are heated equally no matter where they are placed within the chamber. Onex’s furnaces are all calibrated and surveyed, and we also have a certified furnace for special needs.

Fired pieces that aren’t properly cooled can crack, leaving unusable materials instead of a reliable precast product.

With Onex’s controlled furnace cool-down process – staged at 30 degree increments per hour – even pieces as thick as 18 inches can be successfully precast!

Onex’s entire combustion crew is available to make sure our furnaces are maintained. This means a whole team of people who work on precasts is available 24/7 to watch over your precast part and ensure proper firing.

Additionally, Onex has on-site furnace capabilities to ensure furnaces are always running properly, maintain temperature properly, have proper circulation, and control cooldowns so that your parts aren’t subject to temperature variations.

This level of refractory furnace expertise not only ensures that you receive precast with the right specifications but also gives customers more options, including high firing capabilities. High firing creates a ceramic bond, and it's something that most precast manufacturers do not offer - but Onex does.
